Prof. Michael Braungart and EPEA have been invited by this year´s director Alejandro Aravena, a multi price-awarded Chilean architect, to present the Cradle to Cradle design concept in one of the exhibition rooms in the Central Pavilion (Giardini). at the Biennale in Venice.
Reporting from the Front
The Biennale is a great opportunity to enlighten the meaning of beneficial buildings related to practical examples, and an ideal place to shake things up a bit where the status quo cannot be accepted. Alejandro Aravena elucidates the motto: “Reporting from the front will be about sharing with a broader audience, the work of people that are scrutinizing the horizon looking for new fields of action, facing issues like segregation, inequalities, peripheries, natural disasters, waste, pollution and participation of communities”.
Encourage positively defined innovation
The battle to free us from design errors and encourage positively defined innovation is still going on strongly. EPEA and Prof. Michael Braungart have been operating on this front line for decades. Still more time and courageous decisions are needed to make the industrial revolution in society happen. With the Cradle to Cradle design concept we can change the built environment. It is possible to make buildings beneficial for humans and nature: healthy material banks which are cleaning the air, the water and supporting biodiversity and ecosystems.
